Equip Announces Tree Care Arena

Celebrate Arbor Day: Get Inspired to Grow Tree Care Services. In honor of Arbor Day on April 25, award-winning trade show Equip Exposition held this October 21-24, announces the new Tree Care Arena in Freedom Hall at the Kentucky Exposition Center (KEC).

Tree Care Arena, sponsored by Altec, will showcase live pruning and limb removal demonstrations using the latest outdoor power equipment on a 50-foot-tall tree transported to the arena for training and education. Trainers from The Davey Institute will host daily training, covering the safety requirements for tree care, the equipment needed, and the many techniques employed by tree care professionals utilizing bucket trucks, lifts, chainsaws, and other commonly used tools.

“For landscapers, tree care can be an excellent way to grow their profits and service lines,” said Kris Kiser, President and CEO of the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI), an international trade association which owns and manages the trade show. “Trees are key for communities that appreciate green space. For the landscapers, dealers, contractors, hardscape experts, and outdoor power equipment manufacturers attending Equip, Tree Care Arena will be a living laboratory for learning about tree care.”

Dan Herms, vice president and general manager, the Davey Institute, added, "The educational material the Institute shares at the Expo is designed to teach professionals how to safely and efficiently work around trees while utilizing some of the most common and up-to-date equipment in the trade. [Our] team of experts have spent their careers studying trends, techniques and the latest improvements in the industry.”

In addition to the live tree demonstrations at Tree Care Arena, Equip attendees also can learn how bucket trucks and lifts are used for tree trimming and care by watching real demonstrations with large equipment, tree removal, planting and mulching, small tree and shrub planting and pruning, and the business opportunities offered by providing tree care services.

Tree Care Arena offerings are included in the Equip Exposition registration and are not an additional cost to attendees.

For Forestt Greeno, with Greencare in northeast Arkansas, attending Equip helps him grow his tree care business. “I’ve always learned a lot of useful knowledge … that is super important to being able to provide a quality service to clients,” said Greeno.

More than 28,500 industry professionals registered for Equip last year, and the trade show is a major economic driver generating over $30 million annually for Louisville.

Registration for the show is only $25 through May 31, 2025 at EquipExposition.com. Additional fees apply for select education and certification classes. Attendees are encouraged to download the Equip Expo app, sponsored by CASE Construction Equipment.

Press seeking to attend Equip are strongly urged to register and obtain media credentials in advance of the show.
